Al Rayyan’s talismanic captain Rodrigo Tabata has been announced as the QSL player of the month for February/March. The Lions number 10 picked up the award at training on Thursday evening.

Tabata has been on fine goal scoring from in February and March notching six goals and four assists over the five games. This included a well taken hat-trick as Al Rayyan humbled Al Wakrah 4-0 in round 23.  

Tabata has been a constant threat in attack for Al Rayyan over the two months and this is highlighted with 11.6 penalty area entries over the period, considerably more than the average player in the league. Whilst the Al Rayyan captain is not afraid to shoot in front of goal, notching 2.2 shots from outside the penalty box per game during the five games.  

Al Rayyan fans will be hoping that their influential captain will be able to aid the side again, when Al Rayyan take on Al Sadd in a highly anticipated Qatar Clasico match later on today.
