The round 16 QSL match of the week will see Al Sadd take on Lekhwiya in a top of the table clash on Friday evening. Ahead of the game QSL online has decided to profile a key player from each side who could make a difference for their respective sides. This week we are focusing on the playmakers of each side in Sadd’s Spanish maestro Xavi and one of the most consistent players in the QSL in Nam Tae Hee of Lekhwiya. All of our data has been supplied by official partner Stats.
This season both players have won the coveted QSL player of the month award, and perhaps it’s no surprise that each player has contributed to a total of 15 goals this season. Xavi has notched six goals and an impressive nine assists. Whilst Nam has been more deadly in front of goal scoring eight time and registering eight assists.
Xavi’s passing game has made his Al Sadd side tick this season, setting the tempo for his team in many games. Unsurprisingly the former Spanish international leads the way with an average of over 71 passes per game. Nam is considerably behind averaging 55 passes per game.
Interestingly the South Korean international might be behind in passes, but he makes up for it in accuracy with 91.9% of his passes finding their mark. Xavi lags behind comparatively, with only 88.5% of his passes finding their intended target.
In terms of distance covered, the older player in Xavi covers the most on average per game averaging 11,212 meters per match. Whilst Nam Tae Hee covers slightly less averaging 10,739 meters per match.
Despite this, Lekhwiya’s leading all time scorer Nam edges out Xavi with his high intensity running. The South Korean has registered 846 meters of sprinting per match, compared to the 721 meters clocked up by Xavi during a game.
As you can see it’s finely poised between the two playmakers, and just like the game itself on Friday evening it promises to be a tight game when Al Sadd take on Lekhwiya in a top of the table QSL match of the week.
