The round 2 QSL match of the week will involve Al Arabi playing El Jaish in the 20:00pm KO on Thursday the 22nd of September at Al Arabi stadium.
The Dream Team have had a frantic summer of transfer activity and have brought in no less than nine new faces to the club. Having been now officially registered Senegalese defender Moustapha Sall and Nigerian attacker Imoh Ezekiel could be in line for their debut with the club. Likewise Qatar international midfielder Ahmed Maqsoud could also start, after officially joining the club on Sunday evening.
Arabi enjoyed a narrow opening day 1-0 victory over Al Sailiya, the result all the more impressive that head Coach Gerardo Pelusso played a side with no professional players. Attacker Yusef Ahmed maintained his composure and tucked away the winner much to the delight of the Arabi fans in attendance.
On Thursday Arabi will have a much sterner test of their early season form when they welcome El Jaish in the QSL match of the week. Sabri Lamouchi’s side has been busy already this season and has progressed to the semifinals of the AFC Champions League for the first time in their history.
Jaish have also enjoyed a winning start in the QSL, despite having to endure a nervous quarter of an hour in their 2-1 victory over Al Wakrah. The soldiers looked unstoppable at times in attack and hit the woodwork on two occasions. Summer signing Seidou Keita pulled the strings in midfield, and the former Malian international will have to be at his best if Jaish are to register a second consecutive league win.
It certainly promises to be a fascinating tie when big spending Al Arabi takes on QSL title contenders El Jaish in the QSL match of the week for round 2. The tie is set to KO 20:00pm KO on Thursday the 22nd of September at Al Arabi stadium. You can buy tickets for the match here.
