The Qatar Stars League Football Development Department jointly with Prozone Sports Ltd. Organized a four day educational course, from 21st until 24th March, on the use of the Prozone match analytics system.

Over the course of the four day event, stakeholders from across football in Qatar including individuals from QSL clubs, QFA, Qatar University, and football commentators, learnt the basics of data analysis using the Prozone platform.

Experts from Prozone delivered a series of specialist workshops delivering valuable experiences with analysis technologies. Reflecting on the event Shayne Hall, Head of Education Said; "Prozone is committed to giving meaning to data that can create a competitive advantage on and off the field. However, without the skills to interpret and add context, this data can seem meaningless. Our education program is uniquely designed to develop the skills that are essential to make the most effective use of data to inform the coaching and scouting process. This week has seen the first steps in developing local talent for their journey into performance analysis,  whilst also evolving skills in other attendees to help a career after football."

Aside from learning the basics, a second advanced course was also in progress, aimed at members of the football development team and football commentators. This course looked at the finer elements of the system, which could be used to generate in-depth reports to aid the football development of QSL sides.

Also present at the course was Al Sailiya captain and midfielder Majdi Siddiq who was eager to praise the good work of the QSL; “I would like to thank the QSL, who has helped put on this course.
