Friday’s QSL action will see four games involving sides looking to improve their fortunes in the league.

The first match of the day will see Al Sailiya take on Al Ahli in the 16:00 KO at Ahli stadium. Sami Trabelsi’s side is fresh from registering their first win of the season, and will be targeting back to back victories to boost their survival chances. As for Al Ahli, they have yet to win under new coach Yusef Adam and will be looking for a statement win against their local rivals.

At the same time at Qatar SC stadium, Umm Salal will take on Lekhwiya in the spotlight match for round eight. Umm Salal are becoming the draw specilaists in the QSL this term, and will be aiming to upset Lekhiwya a side who has yet to taste defeat in the QSL this season.

As for the visitors they needed a last-gasp Yusef El Arabi strike to maintain their record against the QSL champions Al Rayyan with a 1-1 draw. Head coach Djamel Belmadi will want a win to keep the pressure up on league leaders El Jaish.

The first 18:10 KO will be at Al Gharafa stadium and see high-flying Muaither take on reigning QSL champions Al Rayyan. Phillipe Birol’s side have now registered three straight wins in the league, and have hauled themselves out of the relegation zone following their 1-0 win over Al Khor last time out.  The Stallions will be hoping they can buck the odds and shock Al Rayyan.

As for the visitors, they are still unbeaten in the league this season, and are currently in fourth place in the QSL standings. Head coach Michael Laudrup will be aiming to put aside the disappointment of drawing with former club Lekhwiya and get back to winning ways against newly promoted Muaither.

Friday’s QSL action comes to a close when table topping El Jaish face off against Al Kharaitiyat at Lekhwiya stadium.  Jaish have been in inspired form so far this season, dropping points in only one game. They will be hoping for a win to further stretch their lead at the top of the QSL standings against a Kharaitiyat side that has struggled this term.

Whilst for Al Kharaitiyat, new head coach Ahmad Al-Ajlani will be targeting a shock against Jaish. The Thunders are in the QSL relegation zone and are in desperate needs of points to boost their survival chances.
