The final round of the QSL season kicks off with five games kicking-off simultaneously at 18:15. Survival in the QSL for another season is on the agenda in two big relegation matches when Al Kharitiyat face Umm Salal and Al Wakrah take on Qatar SC.

Al Kharitiyat must win to ensure QSL survival for another season, Amir Osim will be hoping star striker Hassan Abdel-Fattah can add to his brace last time out and fire the Thunders to safety. As for Umm Salal, they may have just missed out on the Qatar Cup but head coach Bulent Uygun has vowed that his side won’t be taking their final game of the season lightly.

 As for Qatar SC they must win against Al Wakrah and hope Kharitiyat drop points in order to leapfrog their rivals to safety. Head coach Sebastaio Lazaroni will expect nothing less than a win from his side. The Kings will be hoping defender Rafik Halliche will be on top-form to shut out a dangerous Wakrah front line. The survival stakes could not be any higher in these two games.


Elsewhere and a second place finish and AFC Champions League qualification is on the line when Al Sadd face rivals El Jaish at Qatar SC stadium. Indeed both sides come into the tie on a fantastic run of form with Al Sadd unbeaten in seven QSL outings, Whilst El Jaish are on three game unbeaten run.

Sadd will be relying on powerful striker Bagdad Bounjah for the goals, whilst Jaish will be looking to Abderrazak Hamdallah to secure second spot. The Moroccan international is fighting for the QSL top scorer and will need goals if he is to beat rival Rodrigo Tabata for the title at the end of season QFA awards.

Whilst the other games at 18:15 will see fourth place Lekhwiya face already relegated Meisameer. Red Knights head coach has seen this tie as ideal preparations for the upcoming AFC Champions League clash and will be eager to change his teams three game losing streak in the QSL.

Already relegated Meisameer will be playing for pride and look to stifle the former QSL champions, just like they did last time out registering a 0-0 draw with Al Arabi.

 The final 18:15 KO will see Al Gharafa face off against already safe Al Khor. Head coach Pedro Caixina has called his final game of the season a ‘Cup Final’ as the Cheetah’s prepare for the Emir Cup competitions. They will be looking to get back to winning ways in the QSL, following their 3-1 defeat to relegation threatened Qatar SC.

As for Al Khor, its mission achieved after pulling away from the relegation zone with a few games to spare. Expect head coach Jean Fernandez to perhaps experiment with his side ahead of the Emir Cup competitions.

So with relegation and second place on the agenda, expect plenty of thrills and last-minute drama in the final Friday of QSL action.
