Round 23 of the season will see two games on Friday, in which all four sides will be looking for a win to ensure survival in the QSL for another season.

The first match of the day is the 16:55 KO which will see eleventh place Al Khor take on seventh place Al Arabi. Jean Fernandez’s side are in the QSL relegation zone as things stand, and will be targeting a win to keep pace with the sides just ahead of them in the league. Last time out they fell to a 4-0 defeat to title chasing Al Sadd and the French coach will be expecting a reaction from his side.

Whilst for Al Arabi, they have picked up two wins from their last three QSL matches, and confidence will be high heading into the match at Al Khor stadium. Osvaldo Olivera’s boys all but resigned Al Wakrah to the relegation zone with an impressive 3-1 win last time out, and will be targeting a similar performance again.

The second game of the day will see Al Shahania take on Al Ahli. The Oryxes are the draw specialists in the QSL this term, notching 11 stalemates so far this season. They are in  desperate need of a win, having last secured three points back in October last year. With time running out, they will be aiming for a victory against a patchy Al Ahli side.

As for the visitors Al Ahli, they have lost two games on the bounce and Qatari coach Yusef Adam will be looking for a win to relieve any relegation fears. Last time out Ahli were comfortably defeated by El Jaish 2-0, and Adam will be aiming for a clean sheet against Al Shahania.
