The Qatar Football Association Referees Committee convened their annual ceremony which is held at the end of every season. CEO of the Qatar Stars League Mr. Hani Ballan who is also the Chairman of the Referees Committee was present at the ceremony.

The event paid tribute to the efforts undertaken by the Referees Committee who have contributed to the development of the Qatari referees.

The ceremony was attended by Negi Gouini, Director of the Referees Department, members of the department, the Qatari referees, a number of the senior referees and the school officials who also work with the department.

Both Mr. Hani Ballan and Negi Gouini honored a number of senior Qatari referees.

The honoring also included Said Al-Misnad, Technical Director of the National Teams Department, Abdullah Al Mohannadi, Director of QFA Corporate Support Department and Ali Jassim Al-Muftah, Director of Football Development Department.

The Referees Department also honored the school principals for their great efforts throughout the season, and the physical education teachers as well.

The ceremony began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by few words by Mohamed Abdullah Al-Boloshi, and then Mr. Hani Ballan gave his speech to the referees.

Hani Ballan also praised all the other stakeholders for their work in what has been a demanding schedule this season.

Negi Gouini also spoke, he gave a summary with regards to the efforts of the Referees Committee and sad, “I would like especially thank H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, QFA President, for his huge support towards our Qatari referees.”

The Qatari referee Fahad Jaber Al-Marri was honored as the best referee for the season due to his distinguished performances in a number of important games this season.

The Department also honored both Taleb Salem al-Marri and Khalid Ayed Al-Shammari as best assistant referees this season.

 In addition Nayef Al-Qadry and Mohamed Gad were honoured also for being the best additional referees; Abdul Rahman Youssef was recognized as the best new referee and Abdullah Jaber Al-Blidi as the best new assistant referee.

Also Abdul Rahman Al-Jassim was honored for having the best attendance in the training sessions and Taleb Salem Al-Marri was chosen the best attendance among the assistant referees.
