The first match of round 9 of the Qatar Stars League saw Al Kharaitiyat welcome Qatar Sports Club to the Al Khor stadium on Thursday 30th of October at 17:30 in the evening.
Prior to the match Al Kharaitiyat had lost twice and won once from their last three games, whilst Qatar Sports Club has lost, won and lost.
With Kharaitiyat having slightly the better form and being at home the onus was on them to get all three points.
But it was Qatar Sports Club who got the first goal courtesy of Ali Awad Bujaloof in just the second minute of the game. The move started on the left wing with Korean Cho Young Cheol, some slick one touch passing eventually found its way to the young midfielder Awad who made space and got a shot off just in time.
Then just before half time the boys in blue and white finally restored some pride when Waleed Jassem Jasemi scored from the spot in the 42nd minute, sending the ball into the bottom left corner. It was his second of the season.
The second half saw both teams push forward but neither could find the breakthrough they so desperately craved.
The Kings are now 6th spot with 16 points and the Thunders are in 10th with 10 points.
