Former Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions Al Sadd will go into their round 19 clash on Friday against hosts Al Khor with a desperate desire to snap a four-match winless streak.

Coached by experienced Jesualdo Ferreira, Al Sadd beat Mesaimeer on December 20, 2015. Since then the Doha giants have played four matches and are yet to force a QSL win in almost two months.

In a rather surprising run of flow in QSL, Al Sadd lost points against struggling Qatar SC last week, losing 1-0 at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium.

A little over two weeks ago, Al Sadd were thrashed by Al Wakrah who won the game 3-1.

Al Sadd's experienced captain Xavi and reliable striker Hassan Al Haydos will have to dig deep to stop the rot and help the team go for a top-4 finish when QSL ends in April.

Hosts Al Khor, who enjoyed a three-match winning streak before their loss to Al Rayyan last week, need points to move away from their 9th-place spot.

Jean Fernandez's side needs to show resilience against visitors Al Sadd already smarting from poor results in the last four rounds. Al Khor are a point behind Al Wakrah who have 23 points.

The key clash kicks-off at 16:45.

In other games on Friday, Sebastiao Lazaroni's Qatar SC welcome Al Ahli at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium, knowing they beat Al Sadd last week at the same venue.

Lazaroni;s men have encountered numerous ups and downs this season. A scrappy start to the season has pushed them down the ladder. Qatar SC have 14 points and are still just a notch above bottom-placed Mesaimeer in the 14-team league.

Al Ahli, placed 11th, need a bit of work to snap a three-match winless run. Last week, Al Ahli were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Kharaitiyat.

In the second match of the night at Shaim Bin Hamad Stadium on Friday, Umm Salal will take on Al Sailiyah.

Al Sailiyah will be keen to exhibit form that helped them stun Lekhwiya in round 17 but Sami Trabelsi's side surprisngly went down
3-2 to Al Wakrah last week.

Placed 7th on the points table, Al Sailiyah will be looking at a win to leapfrog Umm Salal who are in 6th spot. Umm Salal, however, come into the game on the back of a 2-0 win over Mesaimeer last week.

The game starts at 19:15..
