Umm Salal Coach Bulent Uygen is hoping for his side to return to winning ways when they face relegation threatened Qatar Sports Club on Friday afternoon in their round 17 Qatar Stars League match.

“We lost a tough match against Al Rayyan last time out, I think my side played well and I know the character of my squad they will be looking for the win against Qatar Sports Club” The Turkish tactician vowed at his clubs Pre-match press conference on Wednesday morning.

Bulent also had some warm words for his opponents on Friday “Qatar Sports Club had a poor start to the season, but they are now finding their feet in the league. They have a good squad, for our side this is a major test and I hope we can show our character in this match.”

“Our new players have fitted in quickly to the mentality of the squad.  Everything is harmonious at Umm Salal right now.” Claimed Bulent, Umm Salal are currently in sixth place in the QSL standings.

Speaking of his sides top four ambitions Bulent noted; “This has been our aim since the start of the season. We have played to a high level already this season; this team needs to keep up those levels throughout if we are to reach our goal of the top four.”



 
Qatar Sports Club head coach Sebastião Lazaroni called for his side to build on their positive 1-1 draw against high flying Al Arabi in round 16. “The side is progressing in recent weeks; we are starting to play the football we should be playing. Umm Salal will be a real challenge for us.”

“Despite our current position in the league, the team is training hard. We need to pick up wins now, and I think we can build on our previous match and get a good result” The Brazilian coach proclaimed at his sides pre-match press conference on Wednesday morning.

Qatar Sports Club are  currently in the QSL relegation zone, and are seven points away from safety however Lazaroni thinks his side can beat the odds. “We played well in our last match, and I have faith in my squad that we can move forward together and achieve the results to keep us in the league.”
