Bottom of the table Al Wakrah take on Al Sadd on Sunday evening, in desperate need of a win. New Blue Waves coach Kais Yâakoubi revealed his thoughts on the match to the local media. 

The Tunisan coach has only been at the club for 48 hours and Yâakoubi  admitted time is not on his side. “In this short time I will be focusing on the mental side, and the relationship with the players will be much more closer. I hope the players will come together at this time." 

"The table sometimes doesn’t reflect the quality of the team. I can see that this side has quality, and are physically fit. We now have to work hard to focus on our targets” explained Yâakoubi when asked about the state of the Wakrah squad. 

Despite their precarious position, the Tunisian coach things his side can push up the QSL standings."Being in last place in the league is a huge source of frustration for the team. From my short time here i can see that the squad is hungry to move up the table and get the season started."

"The only choice i have is to use the available players and i have confidence in them. I will try to get the best out of each player, and over the next few weeks i will figure out the best formation of the side” explained the Tunisian tactician.  

Ending the press conference Yâakoubi had a word for Wakrahs’s opponents Al Sadd. "Our first game will be against Al Sadd, it will be tough as Al Sadd our fighting for titles in Qatar. However we will play with enthusiasm and I hope we can cause an upset." 



Second placed Al Sadd head into the Sunday afternoon match, with a number of key players returning from international duty. Head coach Jesaldo Ferriera gave his thoughts to the media on the game. 

"We had many players away on internatiaonal duty and they have only just returned today. We will have to see the fitness of the players and make a decision there and then. It’s not easy for me as a coach to regain the spirit of the team with so many players away” admitted the Portuguese tactitian at the Thursday morning press conference. 

Ferriera also had some words for his opponents, Al Wakrah. "Playing against a team at the bottom of the league is difficult. They are well motivated to do well against us and cause a shock.”

"Khalfan was injured in the first game and he has broken down later in the season. He is expected to join the group for training tomorrow.” Added the Portuguese coach. 

Ending the press conference, Ferriera stressed that he is eager to give youth a chance." Al Sadd have very good young, local players and I am watching them all. As you can see last season i introduced many young players into the side. Each player who trains hard with an opportunity to play in the first team."
