Al Shahania takes on Al Wakrah in round eight of the QSL season. The match will take place at the Al Arabi Stadium this Thursday.

The Oryxes made a strong start to the season but fell off the mark in their last two games which they lost. They will be looking to get back to winning ways against bottom of the table Al Wakrah.

Jose Fernando, the head coach of Al Shahania believes that this will be an important match for both teams involved, “It’s a big game for us and Al Wakrah because both teams are fighting to survive in the league, this will be an important game for both teams.”

“I feel the game against Wakrah will be tough for us because they had a good result against Al Sadd and they changed the coach so they will be very motivated,” added the Fernando at the press conference on Wednesday.

Speaking about the last two losses for his team Fernando added, “In the last two games the tactics were different as we played against two big teams. When you play against big teams the mentality is different. But the next two games I will attack these matches with vigour. We will give everything to get the three points because of its important for the confidence of the players.”

Al Wakrah under new coach Kais Yâakoubi look like a much different side as they had a positive 1-1 draw against Al Sadd in their last match. However, the Blue Waves are still bottom of the table and will need to win against Shahania to improve their chances of survival.

Kais Yâakoubi, the new head coach of Al Wakrah, is determined to get the three points, “We only got only three days between the two games so it’s a short time to prepare. We ended the game against Al Sadd on a high note. Against Shahania three points is our target as both teams are at the same level and our obligation is to get the three points.”

“When we have to play two games in four days so we have to count on the recovery and also to talk tactically with the players and to work on the morale of the players. After the Al Sadd match, our position didn’t change in the table. We played well and we need the players to understand that this next game is worth 6 points. We have to play our best regardless of the level of the other team,” added the Tunisian tactician.
