Al Sadd go head to head against Muither in round four of the QSL. The match will take place at the Al Sadd stadium on Friday.
Al Sadd has seven points from three games and currently sit third in the QSL standings. After a thrilling 3-3 draw against Lekhwiya in their last match, Sadd will be looking to get back to winning ways against newly promoted Muaither.
Jesualdo Ferreira, the head coach of Al Sadd believes that all games hold equal value for his side; “For us all the games are difficult even if we are playing Lekhwiya or Muaither. I have to concentrate on my team and prepare them to do well, whatever team in the league.”
“I am one the coaches who concentrates on his players. I don’t want my players to take Muaither lightly I want them to give it their best from start to finish in this game.” Added the Portuguese tactician at the press conference held on Wednesday.
Speaking about his team’s obstacles and how they overcome them, Ferriera added “Al Sadd was having a hard time before but we are fixing the situation. The offensive line for Al Sadd did well and got us out of trouble against Lekhwiya.”
Muaither are finding it difficult to adjust to the QSL and have yet to register a point from the opening three QSL matches, and sit bottom of the table. However, the upcoming match against Al Saddis a perfect opportunity for them to silence their doubters.
Philip Birrol, the head coach of Muaither was full of praise for his opponents, “We have a match against a big team with many national team players and they have one of the best players in history, Xavi. We are looking forward to this game and we hope to improve from our last game.”
“We could take our first point against Gharafa but unfortunately we couldn't take our opportunities. But we can take many positives from this game as we get a hang of the league. But we proved we can score and our players keep working hard and there is a good atmosphere in training and that is important for me” added the Frenchman.
Birrol also stressed that he wants his players to play the same ways as they did in their last game, “The target is to work the same way as we did against Gharafa and improve overall and to play well. If we do all that we can come out with something from the game.”
