Fossati demands focus from his champions.
 
QSL winners Al Rayyan are facing relegation threatened Qatar Sports Club on Friday. This top versus bottom clash will have a big impact on Qatar SC’s survival chances this season.
 
Al Rayyan Coach, Jorge Fossati spoke to the media at the pre match press conference on Thursday morning ahead of the game. He is aware of the situation that QSC are in as he stating; “Tomorrows game against Qatar Sports Club is important because Qatar Sports Club is not having a good season and they are fighting for the life of the club.”
 
 He also addressed concerns about complacency in his side, “Even though we have won the league, we can’t give fifty percent for some matches and seventy-five percent for others. Instead we should give a hundred percent against each and every team,” added the Uruguayan tactician.
 
The Lions will go into the game already as QSL champions with five games to spare However Fossati has his sights set on a record number of points. “We have the opportunity to make the best league finish in the history of Qatar. It’s not our obligation but we must strive for it,” said the Uruguayan coach.
 
The season is not over yet for Al Rayyan as they have the Qatar Cup and the Emir cup to look forward to as well. Fossati also commended his team’s spirit and unity, “I think that I think one of the secret to win the league that this group of players is very close to each other and they improve day by day.”
 
After the league triumph the Lions are setting their sights on the cup competitions, “We are looking for more targets but we first need to finish the title in the best way.  Next we have the Qatar Cup and Emir Cup and with this group of players we can have a very good next season as well,” added the 63-year-old.
 




Qatar Sports Club are currently languishing in the drop zone with 20 points. They lost to Al Khor last week after a run of three consecutive wins. Now, they are hoping to upset the champions to improve their survival chances.
 
Qatar Sports Club head coach, Sebastiao Lazaroni wants his team to deliver a special performance against Al Rayyan, ”After the last game Qatar Sports Club are in a tough position and now we are in need of something special from the team. We need to give the best performance we can to get a result against Al Rayyan.”
 
QSC are going to implement a possession based strategy according to their manager. “Rayyan play three-four-three that means we have to control possession in order to get something out of this game. We need to give more than hundred percent in order to succeed,” added the Brazilian.
