Last season’s champions, Al Rayyan go head to head against Al Ahli in round six of the QSL. The match will take place at the Al Sadd stadium on Wednesday evening.
Al Rayyan are currently in fourth place in the QSL standings with nine points from five games. The Lions will be looking to get the three points as look to gain ground on league leaders Lekhwiya.
Michael Laudrup, the head coach of Al Rayyan is delighted with his teams win last week, “I think the team has played well in all of their games and it was good for us to win this game after three draws in a row.”
Speaking about Al Ahli, Laudrup added, “I think the game tomorrow will be very difficult as they played counter attack and they have a new coach so we don’t know how they are going to perform tactically.”
“It’s true that in all three games the other team scored the first goal. It’s not good that the other teams score first and we will try in our next games that we don’t repeat this trend,” added the Danish tactician.
Laudrup spoke highly of his most experienced players, “Players like Rodrigo Tabata, Sebastian Soria and Sergio Garcia have great experience and they are all important to the team because they inspire the younger players and bring the team together.”
Al Ahli has just reappointed Yousef Adam as head coach after relieving Luka Bonacic of his duties. The Brigadiers will want to make a positive impression on the reinstated head coach.
Yousef Adam, the head coach of Al Ahli, is excited to be back at the helm, “I’m excited to coach Al Ahli again and I will do my best with the team. We won against Al Rayyan before and I was coach of that team and I hope we will win again.”
“We will face Rayyan by giving them our full concentration. The previous game is history we only think about the future. We are looking forward to getting better and we have to see what we need. We don’t know what the circumstances will be but what we need is to be better,” added the Qatari head coach.
Speaking about his contract Adam added, “I am different from last year as I am not the same. The club has signed me on as a professional coach and not as a replacement. We had three days to sign contract and I finally signed today.”
