Al Khor go head to head against Al Gharafa at the Al Khor stadium in round eight of the QSL season. The match will take place at the Al Khor Stadium on Thursday.

Al Khor had a shock defeat against Muaither in their last game after making a strong start to the season. The Knights will be looking to get back some points against Al Gharafa.

Jean Fernandez, the head coach of Al Khor wants a better result in this game, “We respect Gharafa. I saw their last game and they played really well and they are having a good form at the moment. After the Muaither defeat, we will try to provide a better game against Al Gharafa now.”

“We had a very good start in the league but the result against Muaither was a frustrating. So we will try to get back from it. Usually, we play against offensive teams and not teams that play defensively. In the match against Al Gharafa we will put our best foot forward and try to win the game,” added the Frenchman.

Al Gharafa are undefeated in their last five games and are currently fifth in the table. The Cheetahs will be looking to continue this positive run of results against Al Khor.

Pedro Caixinha, the head coach of Al Gharafa wants his team to extend their good form; “The next game is a very good game. I really respect Jean Fernandez; he has organized his team very well. Last season we lost both games to them. They are having a very good season this year. We are having a very good moment right now so we need to get the three points in order to continue this momentum.”

“It's too early to tell if one team is going to end the season in a certain position. We are happy with our players, administration, fans and all the support we have been given but we want more and we need to get better. All I I can tell you is that if we win the next game will be in the top four but we need to work hard throughout the season and sustain our performances to ensure a top four finish,” added the Portuguese tactician at the press conference on Wednesday.

Caixinha is pleased with his team's turnaround this season after a slow start, “We didn’t have a very good start but we realized that we had some goals this season and in order to achieve them we don’t need to lose games. Now we are unbeaten in five games and in football these moments are very important and it is up to us to extend these moments as far as we can in order to gain the maximum points that we can.”
