Caixinha looking for ‘progress’ from Gharafa side.

Eighth place Al Gharafa will take on sixth place Al Sailiya in a mid-table QSL clash on Saturday at Gharafa Stadium. Both sides will be looking to get the better of each other with the aim of a high finish in the QSL.

With twenty-seven points from twenty-one games Al Gharafa are having a mixed run of results recently with three draws and just one win in their last four QSL outings.

Pedro Caixinha, the head coach, only joined Al Gharafa in January and has only lost one of his seven games in charge. He is expecting a tough game against Al Sailiya, “We expect a close and tough game. They will wait for a mistake from us so we will need to fight and get all three points,”

Caixinha also spoke about the progress made by his team in a short span of time, “We have progressed a lot in the past few weeks and we are happy with the performance, training, and mentality. So we will continue fighting for fourth place.”

Al Sailiya also have similar aims of finishing in the top four and they will be looking to get a third straight win by beating Al Gharafa.

Sami Trabelsi, the head coach of Al Sailiya is full of praise for Al Gharafa’s new signings and said that they cannot take them lightly, “All the coming games are big for Sailiya and Al Gharafa can do well because they have many good players and they have also brought in new players like Vladimir Weiss.”

“They bring two good strikers with them. They draw a lot of the games so they leave lots of points behind. Some people say that there is problem with the goalkeeper of Al Gharafa but I think its is problem with defense,” said the Tunisian tactician.

He also gave an injury update at the press conference, “We are not the favorites, we are not under pressure to win our ambition is to get better and better. Although Harazi will miss the match we will try and win it.”
