Al Rayyan and Qatar SC top Group A and B respectively

Al Khor defeat Al Duhail 7-0, with Saeed Mohamed Brahimi scoring five goals

The Ooredoo Cup Round 2 saw plenty of action, thrilling contests and exciting results. A total of 22 goals (nine in Group A and 13 in Group B) were scored. Matches were played at the Al Ahli, Al Wakrah and Al Khor Stadiums.

Group A matches were played on Friday, 15th November, and Group B games on Saturday, 16th November.

Group A

In Group A, Al Rayyan moved to the top of the table with six points following their 4-1 win over Al Ahli. The Kings are the only side with an all-win record.

Al Ahli remained third with three points.

Rodrigo Tabata, Sebastian Soria, Khaled Ali and Abdulaziz Hazaa scored for Al Rayyan, while captain Nabil El Zhar found Al Ahli’s goal.

Al Wakrah slipped to the second position with four points as they drew goalless with Umm Salal, who fell one place to fifth with one point.

Al Sadd climbed from last to fourth spot with three points after they beat Al Shahania 3-1.

Rami Suhail, Abdulaziz Al Ansari and Talal Bahzad scored for Al Sadd. Aldoukali Al Baoure was on target for Al Shahania, the only side yet to open their account in the group.

Group B

In Group B, Qatar SC, who blanked reigning champions Al Gharafa 3-0, continued to lead the standings with six points. Brazilian forward Kayke Rodriguez netted a hat-trick for The Kings, the only team to register two victories in the group.

Al Gharafa slipped from second to fourth place with one point.

Al Arabi climbed from fourth to third with four points following their 2-1 win over Al Sailiya, who remained last without a point.

Hamdi Harbaoui (double) and Hassan Sadiq scored for Al Arabi and Al Sailiya respectively.

The high-scoring game between Al Duhail and Al Khor saw the latter win by a 7-0 margin. Saeed Mohamed Brahimi brought out a sterling performance by pumping in five goals, well-supported by a double from Ahmed Hassan Al Mohannadi.

Al Khor moved from fifth to second position with four points, whereas Al Duhail slipped from third to fifth with one point.
