Al Gharafa coach Pedro Martins spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 5 match against Al Shamal.

“We are required to react quickly after the Asian match and this is important because we will be facing a good team that is having a great season, and in return, we will be ready for the match.

“We know what we must do; we must give our best to limit Al Shamal’s strengths. The important thing is to be mentally prepared for this match,” said Martins.

Al Gharafa player Hamed Ismail said, “It is similar to any other preparation for any match. Al Shamal have commanded everyone’s respect for their collective football, which does not rely on a single star.

“Our fans have every right to criticize the players following the Asian loss, but it does not mean the team’s elimination. There are other matches and compensation is possible. We hope to make them happy in every match.”
