Al Khor coach Salam Shaker spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 22 match against Al Duhail.

“If we continue to look back, we will never succeed. Therefore, we must turn the page, correct our mistakes, accept the situation and work hard to make a strong comeback. We must deal well under these difficult circumstances.

“The situation we went through was difficult. We must recover, accept it, work harder, and perform at our best against Al Duhail in the league final. We will play without pressure. We have a good team and we will utilize the players’ capabilities in this match, which serves as preparation for the Amir Cup.

“Of course, relegation is an emotional and difficult thing to accept. I tried hard to work on the players’ psychological side, but I am confident that they will give everything they have in this match to perform well at the end of the league,” said Salam Shaker.

Al Khor player Malik Hassan said, “We have to play this match seriously like any other match. We have nothing to lose and it is an opportunity for us to show our best. Al Duhail are a strong team and have a chance to win the league title, so the match will be intense and competitive.

“We have to finish the league well and play with all our strength. We know that Al Khor fans are not happy with the results and the relegation, but if I had to say anything, it would be that the team fought until the last moment, but luck was not on our side. We hope to come back quickly and stronger.”
