Umm Salal and Al Wakrah will lock horns in Week 20 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League at the Grand Hamad Stadium of Al Arabi club, on Friday, April 4, 2025, seeking to gain maximum points in a bid to steer away from relegation zone. The kick-off is at 5pm.

Both teams go into the match looking for course correction and to overcome their losses in the previous round. Umm Salal had lost to Al Khor 0-3, while Al Wakrah went down by the same score to Al Sadd.

Umm Salal are in 11th place in the rankings with 15 points and in a difficult position facing relegation play-off. They are five points behind bottom-placed Al Khor, with three rounds now remaining.

Al Wakrah, meanwhile, are in 10th place with 21 points and are seeking a win to get out of the danger zone.

Umm Salal’s French coach Patrice Beaumelle will aim for a win for his team to steer clear of the danger zone and would push his players in a manner required to achieve their goal in this match.

On the other hand, Al Wakrah’s Swedish coach Poya Asbaghi would also be aware of the importance of the match and the need for his side to take advantage of Umm Salal’s decline in the second leg of league.
