Al Khor coach Salam Shaker spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 19 match against Umm Salal.
“It is very difficult to change the style of play in a short period of time, but we have worked on the players’ psychological aspect. We will adopt a style that is in line with the team, the tasks and the players’ duties, and we have worked extensively on it.
“Since there is hope, we must fight until the end and never give up. The Umm Salal match may be our gateway to avoiding relegation. We have studied Umm Salal’s strengths and weaknesses from all aspects. There will be no major changes and the team is ready for this match.
“Negative results cause frustration for the fans and supporters of Al Khor, but as long as there is hope, I hope our fans will support us until the last breath. Their presence at the stadium will provide a great morale boost for the players,” said Salam Shaker.
Al Khor player Abdullah Mohammed said, “We know that if we fight as a team, we will win this match and we have worked hard to limit Umm Salal’s threat.
“We performed well in previous matches, but we were not lucky enough to win. We are working hard and putting in a lot of effort in training, and this will be reflected on the field. I hope that our fans will not stop cheering us on and we will do everything we can to win and avoid relegation.”
