Al Gharafa will be up against Al Duhail in a big fight in Week 19 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium of Al Gharafa club on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The kick-off is at 9pm.

Given the close contest for the top spot, the match is expected to produce a lot of excitement, with both teams pushing hard to secure more points.

Al Duhail are currently the leaders in the standings with 41 points, but just one point ahead of defending champions Al Sadd, while Al Gharafa are in third place with 37 points.

Al Duhail have so far won 13 matches, drawn two and lost three. They have the second-best attack after Al Sadd and have scored 47 goals so far, while conceding 16 – making them the team with strongest defence in the competition.

Al Gharafa have notched up 11 wins, four draws and three losses in the league thus far. They have scored 36 goals and conceded 24.

Coaches – Frenchman Christophe Galtier of Al Duhail and Portuguese Pedro Martins of Al Gharafa – are well aware that there is no room for error at this crucial juncture of the competition with only four games remaining for each side.

A victory for The Red Knights would ensure that they maintain their lead at the top. With the return of their key players Almoez Ali, Salah Zakaria and Edmilson Junior after doing duty for the national team in 2026 Asian World Cup qualifiers, Galtier may deploy all top players to overcome Al Gharafa’s challenge.

The Cheetahs are playing on own turf and Martins will seek to capitalize on the home advantage with the support of their fans and impose their own style to outplay Al Duhail.

A win would see Al Gharafa move closer to the top and maintain their chances of winning the title. They will be relying on their prominent players, namely Joselu, Yacine Brahimi, Ahmed Al Janahi, and Ferjani Sassi to deliver the goods.
