Umm Salal coach Patrice Beaumelle spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 17 match against Qatar SC.

“The match will be very difficult, but I hope that my team will win and collect the three points of the match to overcome this slump.

“We were very unlucky in our last match against Al Shahania as the players gave a strong performance and we took the lead twice, but we conceded goals, some of which were due to mistakes. We also wasted the opportunity to equalize in the last minute and this is football with its surprises, which led to our loss of the match.

“We did not deserve to lose, the team played hard. I spoke to the players and asked them to focus and have a fighting spirit, as our chances are still there and the match against Qatar SC will be strong and difficult, as each team seeks to win.

“The victory will push us to improve our position in the standings, and I have full confidence in the abilities of my players. I did not put any additional pressure on them despite the difficulty of our position in the standings,” said Beaumelle.

Umm Salal striker Kenji Gorre said, “Winning the upcoming match against Qatar SC is very important and all players will do their best to save the team from the current situation.

“We are able to achieve victory and collect the three points, as victory at this stage is very important, especially since the points have become decisive in determining the fate of the teams. Our main goal is to defeat Qatar SC and we will enter the match with all our strength to achieve that.”
