Al Rayyan coach Arthur Jorge spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 16 match against Al Wakrah.

“It is an important match, especially after returning to the league following the historic qualification for the Round of 16 of AFC Champions League Elite and the difference between Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah is one point, so it is a direct contest between the two teams, in which we need to win the three points, and continue the development of the team.

“If we aspire for the first places, we must play every match like a final to achieve victory. Al Wakrah are a team that is good at team play and moves a lot in the midfield, and they have the strength to recover the ball, so we will enter with full focus and preparation for this match,” said Arthur Jorge.

Al Rayyan player Naif Al Hadhrami said, “We need to achieve victory against Al Wakrah. We have turned the AFC chapter after qualifying for the Round of 16 and are focusing on the league matches. The Al Wakrah match will be strong for both teams, so we will focus on achieving the three points we need.

“We play every match like a final and implement the coach’s instructions in order to achieve the three points.”
