Umm Salal coach Patrice Beaumelle spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 16 match against Al Shahania.

“We see this match as very important for us in order to improve our position in the standings, especially since the current position does not suit Umm Salal, in view of the strong performances that the team is presenting in the matches.

“We will enter the match against Al Shahania with the desire to win and collect the three points and I have great confidence in the players to provide the same performance and level that they showed in the last match against Al Sadd, in which we were not lucky. The players must play with full focus and commitment, and with the same spirit and confidence, in order to achieve the best.

“If we want to improve our position, we must achieve victories and collect points,” said Beaumelle.

Umm Salal player Amr Yahya, “The match against Al Shahania will be crucial for the team and important in the journey to improve the team’s ranking in the Ooredoo Stars League.

“The decline that happened to the team recently is something normal that happens to any team. We started the season strongly, but in the second half of the league, our confidence declined and morale was affected. But I believe that the team with the new coach will perform better and we will be able to make a difference, God-willing.”
