The enthusiasm persisted in the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League, as the Week 14 matches showcased intense competition and vigor. This was particularly evident amid the intensifying battle for the leading position, efforts to evade the relegation zone, and the shifting dynamics among several teams.

Al Rayyan drew Al Gharafa  2-2

Al Khor lost to Al Ahli 0-1

Qatar SC bt Al Shamal 2-1

Al Arabi lost to Al Sadd 1-3

Umm Salal lost to Al Duhail 1-2

Al Wakrah lost to Al Shahania 0-1

This week, a total of 16 goals were scored, indicating a decline in the scoring rate compared to the previous round. The round also featured 24 yellow cards and one red card issued to Al Shamal's goalkeeper, Babacar Seck. Additionally, there were five victories recorded, along with a single draw between Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa. Both Al Ahli and Al Shahania managed to secure clean sheets.

Al Shamal's striker Baghdad Bounedjah continues to top the scoring chart with 14 goals, while Roger Guedes, the striker for Al Rayyan, follows closely with 11 goals.

The competition for the top position remains intense, with Al Duhail leading the standings, followed by Al Sadd in second, Al Gharafa in third, and Al Ahli in fourth.

 This week, notable beneficiaries include Qatar SC, which have moved up from eleventh to ninth place following two consecutive victories against Al Sadd and Al Shamal. Additionally, Al Sadd have returned to winning form, climbing to second place with 28 points, surpassing Al Gharafa and Al Ahli, who are currently in third and fourth places, respectively.

Al Duhail have solidified their lead at the top of the standings, now holding 32 points after a 2-1 victory over Umm Salal. Meanwhile, Al Gharafa's 2-2 draw with Al Rayyan have resulted in a three-way tie in points among them, Al Sadd, and Al Ahli, each with 28 points. However, Al Sadd hold the advantage in goal difference, placing them second, followed by Al Gharafa in third and Al Ahli in fourth.

 As for the rest of the rankings:

• Al Shamal remained in fifth place with 19 points despite losing 1-2 to Qatar SC.

• Al Rayyan are in sixth place with 18 points after drawing 2-2 with Al Gharafa.

• Al Shahania moved up to seventh place with 17 points after beating Al Wakrah 1-0.

• Al Wakrah are in eighth place with 17 points.

• Qatar SC advanced to ninth place with 16 points after beating Al Shamal 2-1.

• Umm Salal dropped to tenth place with 14 points after losing 1-2 to Al Duhail.

• Al Arabi dropped to the penultimate place with 13 points after losing 1-3 to Al Sadd.

• Al Khor are in twelfth place with 7 points after losing 0-1 to Al Ahli.

The opening match of the round showcased a thrilling encounter between Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa, concluding in a 2-2 stalemate. Al Gharafa initially took the lead with a goal from their Spanish player Joselu in the fifth minute, only for Al Rayyan's new Paraguayan talent, Adam Bareiro, to level the score in the 14th minute. Al Gharafa regained the advantage with a goal from Amro Surag in the 55th minute, but Al Rayyan equalized once more through Brazilian Roger Guedes, who converted a penalty in the 90th+2 minute.

In the subsequent match, Al Ahli secured a return to winning form, claiming three points against Al Khor with a goal from German Julian Draxler in the 87th minute. Draxler's strike was noted as the most exquisite goal of the season thus far, elevating Al Ahli's total to 28 points, while Al Khor remained at the bottom of the table with 7 points.

Qatar SC celebrated their second consecutive victory, triumphing 2-1 over Al Shamal. Ataa Mohammed netted the first goal for Qatar SC in the 45+3 minute, followed by Ahmad Abdulkader, who scored from the penalty spot in the 90th+10 minute. Al Shamal's sole goal came from Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah, who converted a penalty in the 82nd minute.

Al Sadd successfully returned to winning form by overcoming Al Arabi in a thrilling encounter. Al Arabi initially took the lead with a goal from Ahmed Alaaeldin in the 18th minute. However, in the second half, Al Sadd equalized through Rafa Mujica in the 54th minute. Akram Afif then put Al Sadd ahead with a penalty goal in the 76th minute, and Mujica sealed the victory with another goal in the 88th minute, bringing Al Sadd's total to 28 points, placing them in second position. The match was marked by dramatic moments, including a missed penalty by Al Arabi's Abdou Diallo just before halftime, while his team were still leading.

Al Duhail secured a hard-earned victory against Umm Salal, coming from behind to win 2-1. Ismail Mohammed netted a goal for Al Duhail in the 39th minute, followed by Abdullah Al Ahrak scoring the decisive goal in the 89th minute. Moroccan player Oussama Tannane had previously given Umm Salal the lead with a goal in the 36th minute.

In the final match of the 14th round, Al Shahania achieved a significant victory over Al Wakrah, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Al-Hassan Koroma. This victory allowed Al Shahania to secure three important points, marking their second consecutive win and bringing their total to 17 points. Conversely, Al Wakrah's position weakened as they remained at 17 points in eighth place, trailing Al Shahania by a goal difference.
