Al Sadd coach Felix Sanchez spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 13 match against Qatar SC.

“We are now preparing to face Qatar SC at this stage of the season. We all need points and we are fully aware that it will be a strong and difficult match.

“It is necessary to pay great attention to the details. I think we have to benefit from our last match as an example; we did a lot of good things, but perhaps the details were not effective as required, so we will continue to work on improving this aspect to achieve a positive result in our next match.

“There is no doubt that we feel sorry, especially for our fans, because we were looking forward to achieving victory and winning the Qatar-UAE Super Shield. Unfortunately, we were unable to achieve that, but the team performed well, especially in the second half. I think we played a good match and had enough opportunities to achieve a better result.

“This is football and small details make the difference, we are optimistic and continue to work on preparing for the next match.

“We realize that the season is still long and we cannot win every match, but after the recent loss we will do our best to achieve a positive result in the next match,” said Sanchez.

Al Sadd player Ahmed Sayyar said, “Every match is important to us as if it were a final, especially with the first rounds of the second leg. Al Sadd are the title holders and our goal is to win and collect points in every match to retain the title.

“It is a difficult match for both teams, our goal is to collect the three points and continue the victories, Al Sadd fans are our biggest supporters and we are waiting for them in Thursday’s match at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.”
