Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 13 match against Al Sadd.

“This match is of great importance to us. We held a session with the players and agreed during it on the need to provide the best possible level so that we can return to positive results that will take us to a better position in the league that befits Qatar SC.

“The last match in the league against Al Duhail was strong, we played well but we did not succeed in achieving a positive result due to some mistakes that we are working on to overcome in the upcoming matches.

“The team is developing and in every match we create many opportunities but unfortunately we do not exploit them in the necessary manner. We also concede goals due to some simple mistakes, so we will work to develop all aspects, especially the defensive side, to avoid any mistakes.

“Regarding the loss in the Qatar-UAE Super Cup match against Al Nasr, I apologize to the fans first for the loss in that match, but despite that, we played well at many times, but unfortunately we were unlucky and now we are focusing on the league championship.

“We know that we will have a strong match against Al Sadd, but we are ready with a great desire to achieve a positive result through which we can get out of the negative results in previous matches. We have determination, ambition and a real desire to achieve this, especially since all the players appreciate the amount of responsibility and are making the utmost efforts possible to improve the results.

“Badr Benoun will be absent due to injury and I wish him a speedy recovery because he is one of the main pillars of the team. On the other hand, we have distinguished players such as new professional Percy Tau who joined the team recently and I think he will be a strong addition,” said Saffri.

Qatar SC goalkeeper Sataa Al Abbasi said, “I apologize to our fans for the loss in Qatar-UAE Super Cup. We seek to compensate for it by achieving positive results in the upcoming matches.

“Although we are going through difficult circumstances, we have become stronger and more united, and we have the desire and determination to improve our situation in the league, and we will do everything possible to achieve that.

“We have all factors that enable us to be in a better position in the league. We have distinguished technical staff and players at the highest level, and I am confident in our ability to achieve satisfactory results in the upcoming matches based on the great work we have done in the past period.”
