Al Sadd will take on Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia in the sixth round (West Zone) of 2024-2025 season AFC Champions League Elite at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh on Monday, December 2, 2024. The kick-off is at 9pm.
Al Sadd who have a tally of nine points are fifth in the table, while Al Nassr are third with 13 points. Al Ahli of Saudi Arabi are the leaders with 15 points and Al Hilal, also of Saudi Arabia, are in second with 13 points. Al Wasl of the UAE are fourth with 10 points.
Al Nassr, however, will head into the tie having already sealed knockout stage qualification, while a win for Al Sadd will almost surely confirm their ticket.
Al Sadd will seek to achieve their third victory in the tournament. The Wolves began with a 1-1 draw in first round against Al Ain of the UAE, then won 2-0 against Esteghlal of Iran, beat Persepolis of Iran 1-0 in the third round, before a 1-1 draw against Al Wasl in the fourth round. In the fifth round, Al Sadd and Al Hilal were involved in a 1-1 draw.
Al Nassr were held 1-1 in their first round with Al Shorta of Iraq, then they beat Al Rayyan 2-1 before overcoming Esteghlal of Iran 1-0. They defeated Al Ain 5-1 and scored a 3-1 win over Al Gharafa.
The top eight clubs from each zone (of 12 teams) will qualify for the Round of 16, ahead of the knockouts starting from the quarterfinals in Saudi Arabia from April 25 to May 4, 2025.
