Al Sadd will host Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the fifth round (West Zone) of the 2024-2025 season AFC Champions League Elite at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. The kick-off is at 7pm.
Al Sadd are playing in the AFC Champions League Elite as champions of Qatar Stars League 2023-2024.
The clash against Al Hilal is of great importance for Al Sadd, who will seek to achieve a third win in the group stage and strengthen their position in the standings.
Al Sadd played a 1-1 draw against Al Ain of the UAE in the first round, then won 2-0 against Esteghlal of Iran before beating Persepolis of Iran 1-0.
In the fourth round, Al Sadd played a 1-1 draw against Al Wasl of the UAE in Dubai.
Al Sadd have eight points to their credit and are in fourth place in the standings, behind Saudi teams Al Hilal and Al Ahli in first and second place respectively with 12 points each in the West Zone. Al Nassr, also of Saudi Arabia, are third with 10 points.
Al Hilal won the first round 3-1 against Al Rayyan, then they beat Al Shorta of Iraq 5-0 before beating Al Ain of the UAE 5-4. They also prevailed over Esteghlal of Iran 3-0.
Al Hilal have made it to the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Elite as winners of the Saudi league last season.
The best eight clubs from each zone (of 12 teams) will qualify for the Round of 16 ahead of the knockouts, starting from the quarterfinals in Saudi Arabia from April 25 to May 4, 2025.
