Al Shahania coach Alvaro Mejia spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 10 match against Qatar SC.

“We had the opportunity to prepare for the match against Qatar SC, and I am happy with what the players have presented in the past few days. The match against Qatar SC will be difficult because it is a good team with good players, and we will look to collect points. We know that Qatar SC played a good match against Al Khor and we will do everything we can to win this match.

“The psychological aspects are very important to prepare for the match, and we deal with them in training. We push the players to trust in their abilities and give one hundred per cent and we must be in our best condition, especially since small details are what will decide the match, so we will work on deciding those details.

“The match is considered to be having six points due to the need for both teams to win the three points,” said Mejia.

Al Shahania player Mohammed Ibrahim said, “The players will spare no effort in order to achieve points in the match against Qatar SC.

“We had enough time to prepare for this match and I am proud of the hard work my team-mates are doing in training. I expect the match against Qatar SC to be difficult, but we have the potential to win, the most important of which is confidence in our abilities, and we will adhere to the coach’s directions, whether in training or matches.

“The atmosphere is great in the dressing room, we feel like we are one family and I have felt that since I joined the team, and this helped me adapt to the team quickly.”
