Al Sadd will face the UAE’s Al Wasl in Round 4 of the 2024-2025 season AFC Champions League Elite (West Zone) at the Zabeel Stadium in Dubai on Monday, November 4, 2024. The kick-off is at 5pm.
Al Sadd are competing in the revamped AFC Champions League Elite as the 2023-2024 season Qatar league champions.
The upcoming match holds significant importance for The Wolves, who aim to secure their third victory in the championship. This follows a first-round match against the UAE’s Al Ain that ended in a 1-1 draw and a second-round win over Esteghlal of Iran, which they won 2-0. In the third round, Al Sadd beat Persepolis, also of Iran 1-0.
Currently, Al Sadd occupy third place with seven points, tied with Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr on points but placed ahead on goal difference. The teams leading the West Zone are Al Hilal and Al Ahli Saudi, both from Saudi Arabia, with nine points each from three matches.
Conversely, Al Wasl stand in fifth place with six points. They began their campaign with an away 1-0 victory against Uzbek side Pakhtakor, but subsequently suffered a 0-2 defeat at Zabeel Stadium against Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia. They later secured a 2-1 win against Al Gharafa in Doha.
Al Wasl are competing in the tournament as the UAE league title winners last season.
The best eight clubs will qualify for the Round of 16 followed by the final stages.
