The matches held during the ninth week of 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League were characterized by intense excitement, fierce rivalry and significant competition. The teams demonstrated considerable efforts in their pursuit of points, aiming to enhance their standings prior to the tournament’s break, necessitated by the forthcoming international matches for national teams in the qualifiers for 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The round featured six victories, with no matches resulting in a draw and three matches concluded with identical scores of 2-1. A total of 24 goals were scored across the six matches, yielding an average of four goals per match.
Every team managed to score except for Umm Salal, while Al Wakrah finished the round without conceding any goals. The match between Al Duhail and Al Shamal was particularly notable, as it produced the highest number of goals, totaling eight. Additionally, Al Khor remained the only team yet to secure a victory this season.
Regarding the standings after the ninth week, Al Duhail maintained their position at the top with 22 points, followed by Al Sadd in second place with 18 points. Al Ahli occupy third place, also with 18 points, but trail Al Sadd on goal difference, while Al Gharafa hold fourth place with 15 points.
Al Wakrah succeeded in returning to victories and reached 14 points in fifth place after two consecutive losses, Umm Salal in sixth place with 11 points, and Al Rayyan, Al Shamal, Al Arabi and Qatar SC in seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place respectively with 10 points.
Then Al Shahania are in 11th place with eight points and Al Khor are in 12th and last place with four points.
The match between Al Gharafa and Al Arabi at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium was intense and thrilling, culminating in a victory for Al Gharafa with a score of three goals to one. The goals for Al Gharafa were netted by Yacine Brahimi, Joselu and Mohammed Muntari in the 21st, 76th and 89th minute respectively. Al Arabi’s sole goal came from Tunisian Yousef Msakni in the 62nd minute.
In another exciting encounter, substitute Ilyes Brimil propelled Qatar SC to a 2-1 victory over their hosts Al Khor at Al Khor Stadium. Qatar SC took an early lead with a penalty converted by Ahmad Abdel Kader in the fourth minute. Al Khor managed to equalize in the 84th minute through Abdullah Al Saai, but Ilyas secured the win for Qatar SC with a goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
Al Sadd continued their winning streak by defeating Al Rayyan in the Qatar Clasico, where the first half ended in a goalless draw. In the 67th minute, Egyptian Mahmoud Trezeguet scored the opening goal for Al Rayyan, but Mohammed Waad responded less than two minutes later with an equalizer for Al Sadd, and substitute Akram Afif, the best player in Asia, scored the winning goal for Al Sadd.
Al Duhail secured a significant victory against Al Shamal, winning 6-2 in the match played at Al Khor Stadium. The goals for Al Duhail were netted by Lucas Verissimo in the 11th minute, Michael Olunga in the 23rd minute, an own goal by Mohammed Musa in the 28th minute and Almoez Ali, who scored from a penalty in the 45+4th and again in the 77th minute. Luis Alberto also contributed with a goal in the 51st minute.
For Al Shamal, Younes Belhanda found the net in the 38th minute followed by Baghdad Bounedjah in the 73rd minute, which helped the Algerian striker maintain his lead at the top of the scoring chart with a total of 10 goals.
In another match, Al Wakrah returned to winning form by defeating Umm Salal 3-0 at Al Janoub Stadium. The goals for Al Wakrah were scored by Aissa Laidouni in the seventh minute, Ayoub Assal in the 81st minute and Jacinto Dala, who completed the scoring in the 89th minute.
Additionally, Al Ahli achieved a crucial victory over Al Shahania, winning 2-1 in a thrilling encounter at Al Thumama Stadium. The first half concluded with Al Ahli leading 1-0, thanks to an own goal by Marc Muniesa in the 14th minute. In the second half, Abdulrahman Al Rayashi equalized for Al Shahania in the 70th minute, but Erik Exposito scored the decisive goal for Al Ahli in stoppage time.
