The Thani Bin Jassim Stadium of Al Gharafa club will host the strong Week 7 match of 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League between Al Gharafa and Umm Salal on Friday, October 18, 2024. The kick-off is at 7.30pm.

The match is of great importance to both teams, given the performance levels that both sides have presented since the start of the season, and also the ambition that each team has shown.

Umm Salal currently occupy fourth place in the standings with a tally of 10 points, having won three matches and drawn one while losing two.

The Orange Fortress, under French coach Patrice Carteron, seek to continue their strong performances and advance further in the standings, more so as they are only five points away from leaders Al Duhail and are looking forward to continuing their brilliance this season.

Al Gharafa, coached by Portuguese Pedro Martins, are in search of a third victory in the league this season as they aim to move into the top four. The Cheetahs are currently in sixth place with eight points gained from two wins and as many draws. They have also suffered two losses.

As for Al Gharafa, their Spanish striker Joselu, coming from Real Madrid, has begun to gel well with the team. The return of Yacine Brahimi also adds to the team’s attacking strength and that may be a big concern for rival coach Carteron, who will try to find solutions to stop this dangerous Al Gharafa duo.

In the sixth week, Umm Salal tied with Qatar SC 2-2, while Al Gharafa lost to Al Sadd 2-4, so a victory and the valuable three points would be the slogan for both sides.
