Umm Salal coach Patrice Carteron spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 6 match against Qatar SC.

“We are waiting for a difficult match against a good team with high-level players, and a strong coach in Youssef Safri. We will fight for a team that really needs points at the moment.

“The match against Qatar SC will of course be very strong for us, so we will strive to achieve a positive result.

“I am sure that we will find the right way to play to provide the best as happened last week, and we will do our best to continue the victories and achieve a positive result.

“The match is important for both teams who know each other well. We are working to continue what we are offering this season, and I am not concerned with what others think, as the most important thing for us, as I told the players, is to fight to maintain our identity and continue to fight in every match to provide the best we have,” said Carteron.

Umm Salal player Ali Afif said, “The match of the sixth round is difficult in view of the great development of the league competition this season, so we have to be fully focused in order to face Qatar SC and achieve the result we aspire to.

“Winning will be the team’s goal during the match in order to continue our progress and maintain what we are offering. We are fully prepared physically and technically, and I hope that we will have our day to collect the largest number of points to be in a good position in the competition table for this season.

“We will enter the match strongly and without any pressure, but the victory we achieved over Al Shahania and gave us third place will be an incentive for us in the match against Qatar SC. We are all happy with our strong performance this season and are fully ready.”
