Qatar SC coach Helio Sousa spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 17 match against Al Ahli.

“We must learn to be stronger mentally in the matches that we play. We saw what happened in the last match against Al Arabi when we conceded three goals, but we were able to come back by scoring three goals before the end of the match, so we must be more competitive in every match. I urge the players to maintain their mental strength from beginning to end.

“All matches are important to us and we are working continuously to achieve the best results in the upcoming matches, and I believe that we are capable of achieving victory in all the matches that we play and collecting points. There is a difference between playing for the sake of being in the advanced positions and staying away from last positions.

“I also urge the players to keep working in the best possible way in order to prepare optimally for the upcoming matches. One win brings us closer to many teams and therefore we must focus in every match we play and do everything possible in order to score points,” said Sousa.

Qatar SC player Ali Awad said, “The results are what is missing in Qatari SC especially since the team offers good levels in the matches, but the results do not keep pace with that performance.

“We are playing well, but we have missed the results that we are looking forward to. We must correct the mistakes we made in the previous match in the appropriate manner and focus more on the positive and correct aspects. We hope that we will be successful against Al Ahli because it will certainly not be easy. But we hope to get the desired result.”
