Al Shamal coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 11 match against Al Gharafa.

“A difficult game awaits us against a strong team that is presenting outstanding levels this season, as evidenced by its topping the league table, and it also includes among its ranks players of the highest level.

“We faced Al Gharafa in the Ooredoo Cup and we gave a very good performance and achieved victory. I know of course that the tournament is different from the league, but I hope that we will perform at the same level.

“I believe that when we face a big team like Al Gharafa, we can provide a good performance and compete with this level of teams.

“I do hope that the team would have a good day during the match and good luck in achieving victory and getting three points,” said Asbaghi.

Al Shamal player Talal Munir said, “The match is very important and we will face a great team that has players at the highest level and has achieved distinguished results this season.

“Our goal is to regain wining touch after the loss the team suffered against Al Sadd in the last round and we will do our utmost to achieve the required result and advance a step in the league standings.”
