Al Shamal coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 9 match against Qatar SC.

“A difficult match awaits us against a very good team that has players at the highest level and seeks victory, and this is our situation as well.

“We achieved victory in the last two matches, whether in the league before the break or in the Ooredoo Cup, and the morale of the players is very good, and we seek to capitalize on that state by achieving a positive result in the next match.

“We will go into the match in order to achieve victory and obtain three points, while being fully aware of the difficulty of the match and the strength of the opponents, which requires focus by the players throughout the match to reach the desired goal,” said Asbaghi.

Al Shamal player Mohammed Al Sayed (Geddo) said, “It is a very important match for us during which we strive to achieve victory and get three points.

“We performed well in the last two matches and achieved victory in both of them, whether in the league or in the Ooredoo Cup, and we seek to be on the winning path.

“There is need for intense concentration by the players and we must follow the instructions of technical staff in order to reach the desired goal, which is to win and collect three points.”
