Muaither will have a tough task when they face Al Rayyan in Week 9 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League at the Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium of Al Ahli club on Saturday, November 25, 2023. The kick-off is at 7.30pm.

Both teams would be hungry for a win, especially since each of them suffered a loss in the eighth round before the league championship took a break. They would enter the match with a common desire of scoring a win in order to improve their positions in the table.

Muaither are currently ranked 11th with four points, whereas Al Rayyan are in fifth place with 15 points.

And while Al Rayyan are looking to return to the top four again, Muaither are aiming to move up in the standings and steer clear of the relegation zone.

Muaither will also go into the game after having announced the signing of Uruguayan coach Jorge da Silva, replacing Spaniard Jose Murcia.

The new coach and his staff will try to keep Muaither away from further setbacks and look to achieve positive results beginning with the Al Rayyan challenge.

In Week 8, Muaither had lost 1-3 to Umm Salal. They had also exited from the Ooredoo Cup after finishing last in Group A.

On the other hand, Al Rayyan, who lost 2-3 to Al Duhail in Week 8, have made it to the quarterfinals of Ooredoo Cup after topping Group B.

The two teams’ roster includes a number of distinguished players, especially in attack, and while some may favour Al Rayyan based on their good results since the start of the season, Muaither will surely look to defend well and also challenge their rivals at the same time.

It would not be an easy game for either side and the tussle is expected to be an absorbing one.
