Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 8 match against Qatar SC.

“The preparations for this match were limited to only two days, considering that our last match was on Sunday and the next day was a recovery period for the players, after which they had a rest for one day. Then the preparations for the Qatar SC game began, but this matter does not bother me much mainly because we are accustomed to that. Secondly, because it applies to both sides of the match.

“Qatar SC are one of the good teams in the league and, with the arrival of their new coach, they succeeded in achieving victory in the last two matches, so facing them will be very difficult, but this is the case with all matches, which are all equally difficult.

“We do not have any absences and therefore I expect a lot from all my players during this match,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Lucas Mendes said, “The difficulty of the match against Qatar SC is the motivation they have especially after a big victory in the last round.

“Despite this difficulty, we are fully prepared to overcome this obstacle and continue the positive results especially since we are in the top four, where we are keen to stay.

“Qatar SC have very good players in all departments especially upfront, so facing them will be difficult, but we have a great desire to make the utmost efforts possible.”
