Al Shamal face Al Markhiya in the opening match in second round (Group B) of the 2023-2024 season Ooredoo Cup on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Grand Hamad Stadium of Al Arabi club. The kick-off is at 6pm.

Al Rayyan, Al Duhail and Al Gharafa are the other teams in the group.

Both Al Shamal and Al Markhiya seek to provide their best in order to win, having dropped points in Round 1, where Al Shamal lost 1-2 to Al Duhail and Al Markhiya played out a 3-3 draw with Al Gharafa.

Reigning champions Al Duhail are leading the group with three points, Al Shamal are fourth with no point and Al Markhiya third with one point.

Al Rayyan were not in action in the opening round.

Meanwhile, in the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League which has taken a break after Week 5, Al Shamal are ninth with three points, while Al Markhiya are lying at the bottom without any point.
