Muaither coach Jose Murcia spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 5 match against Al Ahli.

“We did not perform at the level required of us in the last match against Al Shamal, but despite the modest performance in that difficult match, we were able, through the experience of our players, to score two goals, and we were closest to winning. But due to silly mistakes, Al Shamal were able to score a goal in the last minutes.

“We always look at the positive things in the matches we play and work to develop them and address all the mistakes that occur. We have closed the Al Shamal chapter and all our focus now is on Al Ahli.

“We respect Al Ahli as they are a club with a great history and we will never underestimate them despite the fact that they are not in a good position in the league championship. We must be wary of them because they seek a turnaround by collecting three points. Also, our main requirement is to win and reach seven points,” said Murcia.

Muaither player Mamadou Traore said, “We started the league championship with difficult matches and it is true that we did not perform at the level required of us, because the team was not in complete harmony. But now we are gelling well day after day and the league is long, we always strive to provide the best.

“We respect Al Ahli as they are a team with distinguished players and are also seeking to get out of the crisis. We seek to be at the top of our focus and we want the three points.

“I have confidence in the abilities of my team-mates to reach the goal we want and this is due to the strength of training that we go through daily with the instructions from technical staff. These factors make it easier for us to achieve the desired harmony between us and we, as one family, always strive to make ourselves, the management and fans happy.”
