Yousef Al Noobi, who took over the technical reins of Qatar SC from Moroccan Youssef Safri, spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 5 match against Al Arabi.
“First of all, I thank coach Youssef Safri for what he provided for the team throughout his time with us. This is football, the team is going through an unsuccessful period.
“Regarding the preparations to face Al Arabi, I feel the match will be difficult for both sides, especially since the situation is almost similar in the two teams, as Al Arabi have three points and we have two points, and both teams have a number of star players.
“In the previous match, we played well in the first half and succeeded in scoring, but there were cases of imbalance, which made it difficult for the team to make a comeback into the match. We are expecting a difficult match, but it is important for all players to maintain focus throughout in an effort to achieve a positive result and full points,” said Yousef Al Noobi.
Qatar SC player Abdullah Al Ahraq said, “I thank coach Youssef Safri for what he provided for the team. There is no doubt that the match was difficult for both teams, so we sought during training to correct the mistakes that we committed against Al Sadd. We are all trying to compensate, especially since we were performing well. But we had no luck.
“We must reassess ourselves and work hard to change our fortunes. This stage will be a good beginning for us. We seek teamwork to provide the required performance and gain the largest possible number of points. Of course, all matches are important and our face-offs with Al Arabi are always friendly and enthusiastic. We must make great effort to achieve our goals.”
