Al Arabi coach Younes Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 2 match against Umm Shamal.
“We are ready to return again and we are looking for our first victory in the league this season during the confrontation with Umm Salal.
“Umm Salal are a difficult opposition, who despite their loss in the first round presented a good level against Al Sadd. They are an organized team and possess great capabilities in their attack.
“We are looking for a strong return to compensate our fans after our loss in the AFC Champions League qualifying play-off.
“Also, everyone in the team knows that we did not perform the required level to achieve full points in the match against Al Shamal and so everyone is determined to do better in the game against Umm Salal,” said Younes.

Al Arabi player Jassem Gaber Abdulsallam said, “We lost two points in the first round draw result against Al Shamal, but success will be on our side in this round.
“We are fully prepared to face Umm Salal, a team which is distinguished by its attack but we are determined to achieve victory and come out with three points.

“My personal ambition this season is to compete strongly for all championships and achieve more than one championship with the team.
“Our fans have always been the team's real supporters and their presence in the stadium will be a source of strength in our match against Umm Salal.”
