Wesam Rizik, who replaced Brazilian Sergio Farias as Umm Salal coach, spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 8 match against Al Sailiya.
“The team’s preparations went off well, especially since the players appeared during training in a strong manner and pledged to make efforts to achieve the best.
“We have a difficult match ahead, but my confidence in the team is great, and the way it appeared confirms that things will be good and that the team will have a reaction.
“It is certain that both teams are always characterized by strength, and each team goes into the match with the aim of winning. I hope to be an addition to the team and I am not new to Umm Salal. I follow all league matches and I aim to provide the best.
“I thank the management of Umm Salal club for its confidence in me. I hope to do something good for the team and I also thank the players. We hope to offer a lot because there are strong factors in the team that give you an indication that Umm Salal are able to put up a better show,”said Wesam.
Umm Salal player Ayman Abdennour said, “It is a difficult match for the two teams and each team respects the other. Therefore, it will be a match for the three points.
“The players are ready and have the desire and determination under coach Wesam, who has great ambitions. We are happy to train under him and we hope to offer something. We are determined to win this match, especially since we prepared for it strongly under the new technical staff.”
