Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 22 match against Al Ahli.
“Our match against Al Ahli will be different, there will be changes in the squad. Some new players will play in this match, and there are young players and players returning from injury. I cannot say the number of minutes each player play, but we will enter the match to win against Al Ahli, who want to improve their position. The league is over for us and the result will not change our position, but we want to win.
“The team suffered injuries and the players’ performance and focus are affected, but the victory comes with focus and Al Duhail lost three matches in the league despite all the circumstances we went through. Great results will greatly boost the players’ morale,” said Castro.
Al Duhail goalkeeper Shehab Ellethi said, “We have reached the last round of the league for this season and we will face Al Ahli. Certainly the team aspires to win, and all players are ready to take the field, implement the instructions of technical staff and work with concentration in order to get the desired result.
“We work hard in training in order to be in the ideal level of physical and technical readiness required by the technical staff, which allows the team to appear well in matches.”
