Al Rayyan coach Laurent Blanc spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Qatar SC.

“We will start a new tournament because the last match we played in the league was a long time ago and we need to perform better. Of course, we will prepare the team, everyone knows we had some international players in the FIFA Arab Cup. We have some injured players, but the most important thing now is to prepare for the match against Qatar SC.

“We have many matches in the tournament and we have to win and collect points. If I manage to recover all the players I will be very happy. I am excited very much for the return of the league and I hope that the players will be at the same level of enthusiasm.

“We had some players who performed at great levels in the Arab Cup. Abdulaziz Hatem made a great performance with the Qatar team and Yacine (Brahimi) made a great performance with the Algerian national team and got the best player award in the tournament, so I am happy for them. I know that Hatem has a minor injury, this is not good news for Rayyan,” said Blanc.

Al Rayyan player Ahmed Yasser said, “The players will be fully focused against Qatar SC. The match will be difficult, especially after a long break. We had many absences and will be in full focus during the next match. We hope to get the three points.

“We are ready for the match, we have many absences, and we hope that they will return quickly, and we must be ready. It is an important match, and we hope to regain confidence and achieve the three points.”
