Qatar SC coach Safri Youssef spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 1 match against Al Gharafa.

“We are happy with the quality of work during the last period, especially during the training camp, until we reached the opening match, and everyone is waiting for the starting whistle. For us, we look forward to achieving a start worthy of Qatar SC. We must thank the club management for their support and all the needs of the team, in addition to the sacrifices and enthusiasm of the players, which are all positive factors that give us motivation to start strong, despite the presence of some injuries, but we are ready with a great desire to win.

“All teams were keen to strengthen their ranks with players, which confirms that the competition will be more fierce than in previous seasons, and in general I am satisfied with the technical level in the camp and the friendly matches. We will be ready despite some absences, the most important of which is Sebastian Soria’s injury, as he will need two or three weeks to recover.

“Opening matches are always difficult, but we are confident that the tremendous work we have done will help us achieve a start that gives us confidence during the new season,” said Safri.

Qatar SC player Nassir Peer said, “The match is important for us, so we seek to achieve a positive result that will be an incentive for us to compete strongly this season.

“We hope to present a good level that reflects our readiness to compete strongly in the new football season, especially that our preparations took place seriously and with great enthusiasm, and facing Al Gharafa in the first round of Expo Stars League will be important.”
